Perfume scent notes: cherry, vanilla, woods & softer discoveries

By Heid & Seak · 4 min read

Perfume notes are clues, not a checklist of who should wear a scent. They give you a way to explore a fragrance before you smell it—and a few words for the discovery after you do.

A note list is a starting point, not a formula

A perfume’s note description tells you the scent impressions to look for. It shouldn’t be treated as a full ingredient list, a guarantee of how long a scent lasts, or a prediction of how everyone will experience it.

Some fragrances are described with top, heart, and base notes. We share the scent notes for our perfumes without assigning them to those stages. Instead of inventing a note pyramid, we’d rather let you discover how each fragrance feels as you wear it.

Cherry vanilla perfume with a sweet tobacco twist

Borrowed Jacket combines sweet tobacco, cherry, and vanilla. Those are the three clues we give you: warmth, a little sweetness, and a borrowed-jacket-after-midnight kind of mood.

If you’re searching for cherry vanilla perfume, this scent lets you explore those notes alongside sweet tobacco rather than on their own. If sweet tobacco perfume drew you here, the cherry and vanilla are part of this particular profile too. Try the whole fragrance instead of deciding from a single note.

Bergamot, warm woods, and amber

Just Left the Room is described as bergamot with warm woods and amber. In our story it’s a bright hello, a quiet exit, and a trace of intrigue left behind.

Searching for bergamot amber perfume can be a useful way to find this scent family, but descriptions still need to be read as a whole. Here, warm woods sit alongside bergamot and amber. We don’t name a specific wood or promise a particular wearing time.

Almond and coconut milk, the Velvet Morning way

Velvet Morning brings almond, coconut milk, and heodine together. Its mood is a slow morning wrapped in soft sheets, with nowhere you need to be just yet.

If a coconut almond perfume is your starting point, Velvet Morning is our scent to explore. Coconut milk is the note we describe—not a claim about ingredients or a promise that it will smell exactly like another coconut fragrance you’ve tried.

Compare notes without letting them choose for you

Use a note list to make a shortlist, then try the scents individually. The Seeking Set includes Borrowed Jacket, Just Left the Room, and Velvet Morning in three 2 ml vials. All are handmade in the USA.

Pay attention to what you enjoy, including impressions that aren’t on the note list. You don’t need specialist vocabulary to know that you want to wear a perfume again. That’s a discovery worth keeping.

  1. Circle the notes that make you curious.
  2. Compare each fragrance’s complete profile, not just the shared note.
  3. Wear one sample at a time and keep a few personal impressions.

Three scents. Zero labels.

Let your nose do the finding.

All three fragrances in The Seeking Set. Handmade in the USA.
